The Feel Good Favor

We all love candies and candles, koozies and key chains, but if you want
to do something different for your wedding, consider giving a donation
in lieu of favors. A charitable donation in honor of your guests will
not only make you feel good about making a difference, but will make a
lasting impression on your friends and family.

Get together with your groom to make a decision on a
charity that means something to the both of you. Whether it's to the Humane
Society where you picked up your pup, or your local Make a Wish
Foundation chapter, the organization is sure to be grateful that you
wanted to include them in your big day.

Bethany and Gary from Ohio made a donation to the Susan G. Komen
foundation in honor of Bethany's mother, who had been
diagnosed with breast cancer. Foundation bracelets were used
as napkin rings to inform the guests of their gift.

Jessica and Lucas from Michigan made a donation
to their local Humane Society with dog bone-shaped cookies.
They were wrapped in white bags and finished off with bows
and a custom sticker explaining the donation.

Corynne and Weldon decided to donate to the charity
that Corynne co-founded, Hope for Africa. They notified guests
with handwritten tags placed at their seats.

In memory of the groom's sister, this couple donated
to the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan. Cards explaining
the donation were put on top of the place settings.

If you can't decide on just one charity, let your guests
pick which one means the most to them like this couple did from Chicago.

Or, split up your donation to multiple charities like Alecia
and Rich did at their New York winter wedding. They told
their guests about the donations through cards placed in holders
with a silver snowflake attached.

We love the idea of sharing your wedding day with those in need.
Are you planning on giving a "feel good favor?" We would love to hear about
how you are making a difference.

Love,
The Emily Weddings Team
